Local Performer Auditions

Strathmore seeks talented, local musicians in the greater metropolitan Washington D.C. area to apply for auditions. These auditions will identify potential performers for concerts and festivals presented by Strathmore for upcoming seasons. Interested musicians should send a package including:

1. CD
2. Biography
3. Performance history of the last 18 months

Please send information to the attention of the Strathmore Local Performer Auditions, Music Center at Strathmore, 5301 Tuckerman Lane , North Bethesda , MD 20852 . Packages must be postmarked no later than Friday, November 21, 2008. Incomplete packages will not be considered. Make certain that all contact information is enclosed.

Artists selected from the initial application period will be contacted for live auditions at Strathmore, which will take place early in 2009. The auditions are open only to musicians of Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Musicians of all ages and musical interests are invited to submit materials. There is no charge to apply.

We are so excited by the really wonderful songs submitted to the contest this year. We received 900 or so entries from all over the world for the 25th Annual Contest.

The Panels are just getting underway and we have judges from all over the country participating. We will notify finalists in late November of your status, and the Grand Prize panel will convene late in November. Save the date of January 11 for the Awards Gala. The Grand Prize winner will be announced, and all winners will be honored that night.
